The coronavirus, which is generally known as COVID-19, is a pandemic disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). In December 2019, it outburst in Wuhan, Hubei, China, which then became pandemic on 11 March 2020 by World Health Organization (WHO).
As of now, it has been reported that there are above 11,220,009 COVID-19 cases in more than 212 countries and territories, out of which 529,604 or more are the death cases, and more than 6,363,717 are the recoveries.
It has been seen that the COVID-19 virus is spreading so devastatingly, which is mainly due to the people coming close altogether and coughing or sneezing. The respiratory droplets caused by sneezing are inhaled, but it isn't an airborne virus. It is transferred from person to person, especially when they come nearby or when one tap on the contaminated surface and, later on, touchback their own face.
It has an incubation period for about five days or may vary from two to fourteen days. As such, we do not have any vaccination and antiviral treatment for this disease. But yeah, we do have primary treatment, which is symptomatic and supportive therapy. The symptomatic treatment is the one in which it only cures the symptoms, not its underlying cause, and supportive therapy is the one that is given to the patients for increasing their comfort. None of them has a concern with the underlying cause.
We can follow some of the preventive measures that are washing hands rigorously, social distancing, covering mouth while coughing and sneezing, monitoring as well as self-isolate from the persons who suspected to be an infected one.
But the main question is still left unanswered, i.e., What symptoms does COVID-19 possess?
Since COVID-19 is a respiratory disease, so people may undergo mild to moderate fever. The COVID-19 does not encompass any definite symptom. However, the infected person may be asymptomatic or may have normal symptoms of flu such as fever, cough, fatigue, muscle pain, or breathing disability.性教育第一次视频教程性教育第一次视频教程,艳绝乡村全文免费阅读艳绝乡村全文免费阅读,亚洲日本韩国免费看亚洲日本韩国免费看
The Centres for Disease and Control and Prevention enlisted major symptoms such as:
- Shortness of breathing
The shortness of breathing, which is generally termed as Dyspnea. As suggested by "Subinoy Das", MD, chief medical officer of Tivic Health Inc, the breathlessness happens due to lungs or heart disorders. The patient may undergo hunger of breathe and chest tightness. However, if continued for a long time, it may lead to major consequences like asthma, heart disease, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- Continuous chest pain
As per WHO report, a patient suffering from coronavirus may have dry cough followed by tightness in chest and breathlessness. It is one of the very serious manifestations of COVID-19.
- Unable to wake up
According to the National Institutes of Health, it is an anxiety disorder in which the patient faces false alarms that may be intense, frequent, or even in continuity. If sustained for a longer period of time, the patient may reach the state of dysfunctional arousal that causes persistent sleep-wake difficulties.
- Bluish lips or face
The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated that bluish face or lips is an alarming (emergency) condition where one should reach out to the hospital as soon as possible.
In such severe conditions, it is strictly advised to get immediate medical treatment.
If the disease is left untouched, it may further lead to severe pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), sepsis, septic shock, and death.
- The ARDS is a respiratory failure incurred due to rapid inflammation in the lungs. It mainly includes shortness of breathing, rapid breathing, and bluish skin coloration.
- Sepsis is one of the perilous situations in which the body organs and tissues got injured in response to the infectious disease. Its common symptoms are fever, increased heartbeats, increased breathing rate, and confusion. Some other symptoms may include a cough with pneumonia or painful urination with a kidney infection. In the case of poor sepsis, one may undergo poor organ function or blood flow, which is mainly due to low blood pressure, high blood lactate, or low urine output.
- Septic shock is also one of the deadliest conditions, which is caused due to sepsis. It dangerously lowers the blood pressure causing abnormalities in cellular metabolism. Alternatively, it can be said that septic shock is a subset of sepsis.
There may be a chance that one suffering from COVID-19 comes out to be asymptomatic, i.e., a condition where the infected one is suspected with normal infection in its test results but does not show any of the clinical symptoms, then, in that case, they should go and meet the doctor for pursuing further monitoring as it is said that "Prevention is better than Cure". From the research of Chinese, about 44% of asymptomatic cases were found.
Also, the incubation period stays from two days to fourteen days, so, in order to protect yourself from COVID-19, you should follow the guidelines provided by WHO (World Health Organization) and the government.
